Pengara

Pengara: Summer Pitch I

At the start of the summer, all the students in our cohort had to pitch a game idea that would be narrowed down into the three game ideas for our capstone project. The idea that I pitched was Pengara, an action fantasy game where players are put into the flippers of the titular heroine, Pengara.

Pengara's parents are recently deceased, but she does not know why. She journeys to find out how they died and why. Along the way she discovers a fouler plot is afoot and she must endeavor to surpass it and save all that she as come to know and love.

The home village of Pengara is the island of Auk,
situated in the Arctic, it is the only known island in the Arctic where penguins exist. Pengara explores two other areas in her journeys:

The Village of Breki is is an underwater town built into, and on top of, a glacier. Many different types of creature call this place their home and it is a wondrous town to behold.

Geul Isle is an island caldera where the antagonist of the game lives, the evil penguin Lord Slagathor.

Together with his underlings Old Blue-Fin and Oltrax, they each are in control of one of the three islands in the game. After defeating Oltrax on the first island, Auk, Pengara gains the ability to either specialize in magic or melee. The seas around Breki are dangerous, so to get there, Pengara enlists the help of her friend and mount, Forsooth, to navigate around them.

Forsooth acts as both mount and weapon while in the water.

After defeating the two underlings, Pengara travels to the island controlled by Lord Slagathor. The final showdown set to take place, will Pengara save the world and find out the truth behind her parents death?
